Competition Date: Bikini Division. NPAA May 19th, in Calgary, AB. After that either the IDFA on June 22nd or WBFF on Jun 29th both in Calgary, AB
Stephanie has wanted to compete ever since her University days, but has never had the motivation to get her body where it needed to be for the stage. When it started to take way longer than expected to get pregnant, she made a deal with herself, "if I can't be a mom, I'm going to focus 100% on a fitness competition instead" and she gave herself till January to conceive before she was going to change her focus. Well, she ended up pregnant in December and was ecstatic! Once baby Haley was born though, she thought "Why can't I have both?" Competition became her serious motivation to get her pre-pregnancy body "AND SOME" back!

Rose enjoys the challenge of taking her fitness to the next level. She finds it incredibly motivating to have a goal that is in no way moveable or partially achievable. "You are either going to compete or you aren’t!" While Rose admits that in the past health was very much about how it made her look look good, but it has changed recently to an emphasis on making me feel good and function well. "I want to share that feeling with as many people as possible!"

Corinna want to compete because she's am proud of how far I have come in her journey. Working through body acceptance issues almost her entire life, she's gone from chubby to really skinny to overweight after having my son. She's finally at a place where she loves her body, she's ready to show her son that with hard work, dedication and passion, that you can achieve anything.

Competition Date: Bikini; Next show date to be determined soon! Recently competed last November at the OPA Championships.
Health and fitness plays a huge role in Lindsey's life. She want to be a positive role model for her beautiful 4 year old daughters! She works hard to instill in them a love for being healthy inside and out. Lindsey and her daughters often cook healthy meals together, and even go to the gym together! Lindsey has adapted a healthy lifestyle...and loves it!
Lindsey encourages new competitors to develop a support network. Whether it's a coach, training partner, or spouse, she believes you NEED that support system. Lindsey's favourite quote is "Feel the fear and do it anyway". While she was scared leading up to her first show she kept thinking "There is no way I can do this", but then she did it anyway!!! One of the greatest outcomes of competition prep for Lindsey was saying that she overcame those doubts & fears.
Melissa Shevchenko

Melissa is prepping for her second competition, and her advice to those just starting out is to lift heavy, invest in a personal trainer (even if just little while), believe in yourself, push past your comfort zone, be patient, and HAVE FUN WITH IT!

After giving birth to her son, Jake, Jenny decided to do what she always dreamed of doing - a fitness competition. She kept up her physical fitness throughout her pregnancy but wanted a goal & motivation of a show to push her out of her comfort zone and take her body to the next level.
As a single mother, Jenny is setting an example for her son that healthy and fit LIFESTYLE is achievable, no matter the challenges.
Jenny was thrilled when she found Sisters In Shape because she knows that when a woman chooses to compete, finding a steady support network is half the battle. She looks forward to all the new friendships she will develop while on her fitness journey to the stage!

Past Competitions: 2 (Placed 2nd OPA Ottawa & Placed 4th OPA natural provincials)
Nicole uses competing as a great way to make sure that she sticks with her training goals. It’s so easy to get distracted by all sorts of things. Setting a competition date allows her to focus on her goals.
Nicole has always been active, but has struggled with healthy eating. At the end of 2011 Nicole decided that proper nutrition would also become part of her lifestyle.
Nicole cautions new competitors: "When looking at the health and fitness industry, it’s easy to get carried away. Although training and nutrition are important components of the journey, so are your relationships. This journey should be about balance in all aspects of your life."
